to the magical Isle of Mull

returns within a 20 mile radius of Bridgnorth Shropshire
are included as part of the holiday
Should you require
overnight accommodation we can arrange this in the Bridgnorth
area within an agreed budget for you

Itinerary
Day 1
- Depart 7 am for Oban
- We sail on the 4 pm
ferry to Mull.
- Arrive at Craigrowan
6 pm
- Just time for a quick
cup of tea. (Evening meal at the Kinloch Hotel)
- The Kinloch Hotel
is approx 1 mile from Craigrowan.
Day 2 -
Day at Lesuire
- After breakfast we
depart for Fionnphort, Where we take the ferry to the Isle of
Iona.
- Visit the natural spouting
cave
- Visit to Iona's own
golf course (if you can find it!)
- Depart Iona approx
4-30 pm, evening meal at The Keel Row Fionnphort
- Packed lunch provided
Iona is regarded as the
birthplace of Christianity for the U K founded by the Irish monk,
now saint, ‘Columba’. Most
visitors find that Iona has a certain spiritual feel, and many
find an inner peace and sense of solace and well-being.
Today is a day at leisure;
why not take in the world famous St Columba’s Abbey, the
former nunnery, now a ruin, or the graveyard of the Scottish kings.
The former leader of the Labour party, John Smith, is also buried
here. If the weather is kind you may wish to just sit on one of
the white sandy bays.
(Walking boots and wet weather clothing are recommended)
Day 3
- After breakfast, we
will take a car trip to the small pier at Oskamull. (approx 1hr)
- There we catch ferry
to the private island of Ulva. We will walk the Island of Ulva;
this is a 7-½ miles walk (approx). There is a shorter
route around 4-1/2 miles
- While there you can
purchase Ulva Oysters should you wish, (some times they allow
you to pick your own )
- Time permitting we
can pay a visit to the visitor’s centre, to discover the
history of Ulva.
- Lookout for the high-Tec
way we call the ferry across to pick us up. (You won’t
believe it)

- Evening meal at the
Kinloch Hotel.
Day 4
- After breakfast, we
will drive to Fionnphort & then take a small boat trip to
the, Isle of Staffa to visit Fingals Cave.
Fingals Cave is part of the Giant’s Causeway, which runs from Scotland
to Ireland. The Giants Causeway
is steeped in mythical history
Depending on time of year puffins may be seen.After
visiting Staffa and Fingals cave the accomplished composer Mendelssohn, was
moved to write his Hebridean overture. Before he could start he had to obtain
special permission, as the playing of the piano was not allowed on Sundays
on the Isle of Mull in those times.
- Weather permitting
we should be ashore for at least 1hour
- On our return we should
see a seal colony basking on the rocks.
- a short trip to the
Caribbean white sands of Knockvolagan Bay where Robert Louis
Stevenson was inspired to write Kidnapped

Row Finnophort
Day 5
- After breakfast we
will take the scenic route to Tobermory, famed for its multicoloured
houses and shops, which line its bay and harbour.
- En route to Tobermory
we follow the dramatic unfolding coastal scenery to Calgary bay,
Calgary was used during the Highland clearances to ship the local
population to lands far away. (Or so it would seem in those days)
- We will stop for lunch
in the village pub of Dervaig.
- After lunch it’s
onwards to Tobermory for some last minute shopping, or why not
visit the distillery.
- Back in time for dinner
at the Kinloch Hotel via the Glen More. Camera highly recommended
(Lunch not included)
Day 6
- After breakfast, a
short car journey
- We will walk the Tireragan
Nature Reserve passing what is believed to be the oldest Oak
tree on Mull
In the 1800s around 100 people lived in the settlements of Tireragan and
Breac, living on subsistence farming, burning kelp until the market for kelp
ash disappeared.
- Ending our outward
journey at the beautiful silver white sandy beach over looking
Eilean Mor views of the Paps of Jura the end of Colonsay and
Islay
- We will bide awhile
with our lunch Flora and Fauna abound depending on the time of
year
- This walk is approx
3 / 4 hours and will only be-undertaken weather permitting.
- A visit to the isolated
harbour of Kintra
- onto The Argyll Arms
Bunessan for an evening meal.

Day 7
- An early breakfast,
- Depart Craigrowan
7 30am for the 9 am ferry
- And sadly the journey
home.

Evening meals and beverages
are not included within the price of your holiday.
Craigrowan is not a licensed establishment but you are welcome to provide your
own alcoholic drinks should you wish (No corkage charged ). Free tea & coffee available from the
kitchen.
Craigrowan has a 'no outdoor
shoe' policy in the house, so, for your own comfort, please bring
soft indoor footwear.
No dogs and no smoking.
